Welcome to Arts on the Green – a community arts and culture programme in Newington Green, based at Hackney’s home of radical ideas.

WE’RE BASED AT THE NEWINGTON GREEN MEETING HOUSE

It’s the birthplace of modern Western feminism, the spiritual home of Mary Wollstonecraft and other pioneering radicals, and a Unitarian chapel – and now it’s also a community arts and culture venue.

We’re committed to working with artists to provide flexible space that lets them bring radical art to the community. The venue has a stage, state-of-the-art audio-visual facilities, and a capacity of 120. We’re located on the north side of Newington Green.

“A relish for reading, or any of the fine arts, should be cultivated very early in life” - Mary Wollstonecraft
